The curtain jerker comes in the Light Heavyweight division, as Tafon “Da Don” Nchukwi takes on UFC newcomer Azamat “The Professional” Murzakanov. Coming off an impressive victory over Mike Rodriguez, Nchukwi returns to the octagon seeking a second straight victory. Having debuted in the UFC in December of 2020, with only four professional fights, Nchukwi has been far more impressive than many had thought he’d be. Meanwhile, Murzakanov comes into his UFC debut a perfect 10-0. Most recently fighting on Dana White’s Contender Series, Murzakanov picked up a first round knockout victory over Matheus Scheffel. It was Murzakanov eighth finish in ten fights, seven of which have come via knockout.

As for a prediction, I have Murzakanov winning. While this fight could result in fireworks, I liken Murzakanov ability to put a halt to the action. A powerful striker, yet calculated and accurate, Murzakanov has laid waste to the majority of his opponents. Upon watching footage of Murzakanov, he is patient, but when he strikes, he loads up on his shots. Having knocked out Andre Muniz, who is currently ranked thirteenth in the Middleweight division, as well as defeating former UFC fighter Guto Inocente, Murzakanov is one of the more UFC ready fighters signed in awhile. Nchukwi won’t be an easy out though, as he has added a comparable wrestling game to go along with his already solid striking. One in which features high output, power, good combinations and a focus on attacking the body. However, having seen Nchukwi fight to three decisions, his power hasn’t been as disruptive as thought to be. Murzakanov’s is though, and I’m banking on it to show. So with that said, I predict that Murzakanov wins via knockout.
